Ok, so I want you to think about this for a minute–because I have. Why are there so many famous cartoon rabbits? It might seem, for a second, that a cartoon rabbit is virtually guaranteed to become famous or launch the career of its creator. Not convinced? It’s not hard to come up with a list of famous bunnies. Please, let me list a few, if I may. Bugs Bunny. Roger Rabbit. Flopsy Bunny.  Arguably, the White Rabbit (from Alice in Wonderland). Thumper. The Trix Rabbit. Binky from Life in Hell. Max from the Sam and Max video games. Mr. Bun, Susie’s rabbit doll in Calvin & Hobbes. We all know it was the rabbit and not Calvin or Hobbes that made Bill Watterson famous. Go with me on this.

I will be exploring a few cartoon rabbits that have, against all odds, failed to become famous or make anyone else famous. To Be Continued.
